PRESENT ACTIVITIES:
• Iron and Steel:
The Corporation is procuring Iron and Steel from prime producers like Steel Authority of India Limited, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited etc. under “State Allocation” from the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. The iron and steel is sold by the Corporation to the SSI units of the Pradesh and to various Government Departments/Corporations/Boards etc.
The Corporation gets an allocation rebate @Rs.550/- per MT on iron and steel materials against state allocation from the Government of India. Since the prices of steel are decontrolled and in order to compete, the Corporation is passing on allocation rebate upto Rs300/- per MT to SSI
units. It is also passing on rebate of Rs.200/- per MT
on sales to Government Departments. The figures of

Bitumen:
The Corporation has been appointed as
Carrying and Forwarding Agent of Indian Oil Corporation at its stock point at Parwanoo in December 2003. The Corporation
during the year 2005-06, has sold 17462 drums valuing Rs.435.54 lakhs
and has earned a profit of Rs.8.65 lakhs. During
the year 2006-07, the Corporation has sold 11116 drums
and earned a profit of Rs. 6.84 lakhs. In the
year2007-08, the Corporation has sold 6816 drums and
has earned a profit of Rs.4.73 lakhs. In the
year 2008-09, the Corporation has sold 75680 drums and
has earned a profit of Rs.48.51 lakhs. In the
year 2009-10, the Corporation has sold 95802 drums and
has earned a profit of Rs.70.6 lakhs.(Unaudited)
• Industrial sheds :
The Corporation has constructed 8 industrial sheds at Parwanoo and 17 industrial sheds at Paonta Sahib. These industrial sheds have been leased out to the SSI units and rent from the sheds is Rs.7.87 lakhs during the year 2003-04, Rs.9.18 lakhs in 2004-05 and Rs.12.98 Lakhs
during the year 2005-06, in year 2006-07 Rs. 17.96 lakhs,
Rs.24.66 lakhs in the year 2007-08. In year 2008-09 it
was 20.53 Lakhs and in year 2009-10 its 20.28 Lakhs.
DIVERSIFICATION OF
ACTIVITIES :
This Corporation has also decided to diversify its activities. Accordingly
this corporation is supplying articles like sports
goods, furniture, furnishing material, stationary
articles, linen articles and clothing materials for
schools to Government Departments /Boards /Corporations etc. During the year 2004-05 this Corporation supplied goods worth Rs.20 lakhs and earned Rs.1.05 lakhs. Similarly during the year 2005-06, the
corporation supplied goods worth Rs.1.15 crore approximately and earned Rs. 6.00 Lakhs approximately. and
in the year 2006-07 the Corporation sold goods worth
Rs.1.52 Crore and earned
Rs.8.04 lakhs. in the year 2007-08 sale of the
Corporation is Rs.2.04, and earned Rs.10.68 lakhs. in year 2008-09 sale of the
Corporation is Rs.2.12 Crores, and earned Rs.11.10 lakhs. in year 2009-10 sale of the
Corporation is Rs.0.70 Crores, and earned Rs.3.71 lakhs.
